toml55421
Does anyone know how to replace the cabin air filter on a 2018 Transit Connect Titanium LWB with rear climate control? I know the filter is shaped similar to an upside down basket coffee filter and is located under the driver's front seat.... Any help is very much appreciated. Eddy Kilowatt
GBL, that's the front cabin air filter, which is replaceable. Tom seems to be asking about the rear cabin air filter, which is indeed under the driver's seat where the rear cabin air blower is located. It's porous foam and seems washable (i.e. mine didn't dissolve when I washed it) so shouldn't actually need replacing too often. It's been awhile since I did mine but the procedure is straightforward... slide the driver's seat forward, go in thru the left sliding door with a good light, there's one small screw to remove that locks it in place and then (IIRC) a tab to squeeze at which point you can rotate the cover a few degrees to release it. Wash the element, vacuum under the seat while the element's drying, reverse steps to re-assemble, and you're done. Charlie722

toml55421
Thanks to GBL and Eddy Kilowatt. You both alerted me to the existence of a front cabin air filter and Eddy Kilowatt described perfectly how to service the rear cabin air filter. Bravo to both of you! Charlie722
Eddie Kilowatt, you mentioned having to squeeze a tab to rotate the cover to release it. Where is that elusive tab? I cannot see or feel it, and I can see from the condition of the filter through the grille that it REALLY needs a good cleaning or replacement! Interesting that the owner's manual never mentions this filter or the need to clean it periodically.
mculbert
Sorry to revive an old thread, but it appears Ford has discontinued this filter. I had on order from Autonation for a couple weeks, and they just cancelled it yesterday. Mine seemed super dirty, but this is a synthetic filter, so it's washable. It cleaned up nicely with warm water and a bit of dawn dish soap.
