Hilltopper
Hi guys, desperately need help-I have a 2007 Connect.I'm replacing the front offside flexi brake pipe and the hardline above it has broken right near the fitting.I can get a new fitting(size?) but more importantly what style and size of flare do I need to put on the pipe? It's my daily and now I'll have to walk everywhere? Any help accepted gratefully??
Beta Don
Every automotive hydraulic brake hard line I've ever seen is 'double flared' - The tube is folded in on itself before it's flared out - Very difficult for an amateur to do . . . . I tried it a couple times in my youth when $$$ was in much shorter supply than time and never did get one which didn't leak If I were you, I would either order a new, pre-bent to fit hardline from Ford, *or* I would go to someplace like NAPA and buy a straight length of tubing with the flares and nuts already on it and carefully bend it to fit your car. You'll have better luck than trying to put a leak-proof flare your old line Don

G B L
Your Tc will should have a metric bubble flare as it was made in turkey Make sure to take the flare nut with you so you get the right stuff . If you have the right tools the double flares and the metric's are easy as long as you take your time .
