seat belt buzzer turn off, please

I find the warning buzzer that the seat belt is unbuckled to be overly enthusiastic. Then I read on page 93 of our owners manual that there is a procedure to shut

the buzzer off. It entails turning on the ignition, but not the motor, and buckling & unbuckling the seat belt nine times within 50 seconds. I tried this several times to no avail.

Has anybody else tried this? Did it work? And by the way, what's with no accessary position on the ignition?

This worked well for me and THANK YOU for the enfo. Like Jay I find that it dings four or five times (one instance) when I start it up, but then it never rings again.

Because I do route work I drive very slowly on back roads and get in and out constantly so I often do not connect the belt. The claxon was a real P I A so I am grateful for the help!
