GTWE
How's it going, everybody! Just took delivery of our new TC on Monday! It is an XLT van with a couple of options, notably the SYNC system. Had a partition installed behind the front seats. Love it already! Love the European styling and features. It drives well and I love how solid and well finished it feels. You don't get the "tin can" feeling that you do from other cargo vans. We are a wholesale wheel and tire distributor and will be using the TC for deliveries. Of course, one of the first modifications we'll be making will be wheels and tires! We may go for a wrap as well. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep you guys updated as this work in progress begins! GTWE
The TC is made for wrapping. I did mine, should've done earlier than 6 years in. The only thing that concerns me about wrapping it is drawing unwanted attention. I wanted a TC with no windows at all, but the one we found that had the SYNC radio has windows on the back doors. I'll probably tint them limo black, but I don't like the idea of unwanted eyes checking to see if there's wheels in the cargo area. I spent a few nights in Houston last week and I could barely sleep at the hotel worrying about whether someone would try to break in or not. The fact that a Camaro in the parking had its wheels stolen off of it one of the nights did nothing to alleviate my insomnia!! Regarding wheel fitments for our TC, I will likely bring in some 17" or 18" Focus ST (last-gen, Euro spec) replica wheels at some point in the future. If there's any interest from the members, I'll bring in extra sets. Our consumer site is www.replicastwheels.com (can I post that?). mrtn
Do you keep wheels in the back overnight? You could use perforated printable vinyl for the glass to have a consistent look and for extra safety, the glass being sandwitched between two layers of vinyl. I do keep sample wheels many times in the cargo area. If we go with a wrap, they'll use the perforated vinyl on the glass. It's what to use in the meantime! That's why I was thinking of limo black tint. For now, I cut up a black shower curtain liner and taped it to the inside of the back windows!! mrtn
Is there a cargo cover available for the windowed van?
GTWE
Is there a cargo cover available for the windowed van? Not that I'm aware of, but any kind of cover like those in the typical SUV would impede on the cargo area, wouldn't it?
