  1. They told me that I need a hazardous material permit from the DEP. They also wanted to know if I had disposed the old fluid legally. What a world.
  2. Here in Maine, we've just gotten a serious cold wave. It was -16 degrees. When I started to back out of the drive, the backup alarm went on continuously. I could shift in and out of reverse and turn the alarm on and off. Went to the Ford garage and it did it for them too. I was there for a couple of things and by the time they got to looking at the alarm issue, it wouldn't do it any more. They looked for an error code in the computer but there was none. They parked the van outside again, I tested it, everything is fine. We figured the cold did it and the time in the garage warmed it up and maybe it wouldn't do it anymore. But by the time I got home in ten minutes, the alarm was back when in reverse. Backing up my drive never seemed so far as when that thing is wailing. Any bright ideas as to what is going on. I'll be calling Ford in the morning. Now it is 5 degrees out.
  3. I am wondering if any of you have bought these fog lights on Ebay? They appear ready to fit where the "orange juicers" are. They are in Hungary, cost $64 plus $19 shipping, are white light, Here's a link to it; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180499819823&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT The things we go through! 4. The stock radio and speakers are incredibly cheap. When I pulled the radio/cd player, I found a sticker on it that says to discard if dropped. Meaning it's cheaper to replace than fix. The door speaker is a 5 1/4" with a whizzer cone that pretends to be a tweeter. My new Alpine speaker weighs 3 times as much due mostly to a serious magnet. So, here's my question, how do you run wire, heavier gauge, to the front doors? The wire boot that carries the existing wire is not usable. It plugs into the body with a large connector. The back doors have a hollow boot which though hard, it is possible to use. Thanks in advance. John
  5. I bought a Bed rug. Really quiets down the road noise in back and makes moving around on my knees back there real comfey. It needed slight trimming to fit just right, but that's easy.
  6. My thought is that the gas pedal is too light and easy to push. Anybody found a way to firm it up? Thanks, John
  7. So how are you doing with the fog lights? Did you find any existing wiring? My efforts to find parts at ford parts UK haven't netted me anything. And Trevor hasn't responded.
  8. I was told that the vents in the rear corner pillars are connected to a one way valve to release the air pressure when we close the door. Clever, huh? I suppose a person could rig an exhaust vent to this.
  9. Low on trany fluid? The same thing happened with my E-150.
  10. I suspect it uses the same tank as the front, which is too small. I didn't see anything in the manual. I just stumbled across the over-drive cut off switch under the gear shift knob! I also bought a tow bar, a Drawtight,. It fits nicely. Cost 316 all installed.
