I was wondering if anyone knows the thread size for the license plate on the rear of the hatch versions? My dealer used the wrong screw and messed the threads.

I have finished adding 6.5" component speakers in the front door and A pillar. I am pleased with the upgrade and can hear the stereo now! I frequently had the volume at 75% previously. I dont have much to add for helpful info. 1. I noted that adding wire through the door grommet would be impossible. I have to retract that by saying one could add the proper pins after researching the part numbers or if really a risk taker, you could drill through the unused section to pass wire. 2. To remove the a pillar, strip down the rubber trim that cases it. start at the top and work down. There are three clips. 3. I damaged the paint on the door trying to un pop the clips. They are really in there. I find the plastic itself gives or the sheet metal moves on some clips. Others popped right off. I hope to never have to remove it again. Any questions? Feel free to ask. My memory sucks so the sooner the better...

I didn't quite know where to post this so I chose the general section. In my 2014 titanium wagon, every time I close the rear gate it makes several click noises that sound like the locking actuator. It doesn't happen when the liftgate is opened but it is consistent on each close. Has anyone else noticed this? I can't think of any reason why it should do this. Since a significant amount of the wiring was messed with an alarm installation and removal, I am worried that there is a wire that is not properly connected somewhere. I definitely want to check other versions of the wagon to see if they do it because I will have to have the dealer address this under my CPO warranty.

I purchased a used 2014 wagon in titanium trim. The previous owner installed an alarm and who know what else. The wiring behind the glovebox was a mess. My stereo was barely audible unless three quarters up? I wonder if the modifications had anything to do with that. I will try to document my stereo upgrade as much as I can. The plan is to install an amp, component speakers for the front, and a sub. I will not mess with the head unit or bother with the rear speakers. I already had a 3 Ch amp and line converter from my other car. Hence the decision to not do rears. i would like to give credit to the poster in this thread. The information was very helpful to me. http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=156468 i have a few notes after logging many hours so far. 1. The clips in this vehicle are the most difficult I have dealt with. I have installed a handful of systems in various cars over the years. 2. Do not expect to run new wire through the front door grommet. It is actually a connector and therefore impossible to do so. 3. As mentioned in the linked thread, the A pillar trim is one piece. Don't let the multi color plastic fool you. 4. Even though the interior is cavernous, I am having a hard time finding places to install everything in a hidden manner. Others have mentioned putting a sub under the seat. Not possible in a titanium. There is no room if you want to keep all the parts intact. 5. I have had the battery disconnected for quite some time. I hope there are not consequences to this.

Keyless Entry Keypad
kookmyers replied to windguy's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
My keypad and 4 keys are now programmed to the vehicle. I had the ES7Z-14A626-A keypad originally and it would NOT work. The 7L2Z-14A626-BA was ordered by the dealer and was programmed by them without issue. I have not installed the new keypad yet but am looking forward to it. Thanks for all the advice all. -
I'd love to hear more about this...

Keyless Entry Keypad
kookmyers replied to windguy's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
I don't have much to add at this point other than the fact that I spent three hours at the dealership while they tried everything to program the keyless pad. They apparently even had to hook a laptop up to the car and ended up killing my two original keys and then were required by the car to program 4 keys as was originally configured. In the end they said the part number was wrong and they were getting me the right one. What an ordeal. I have to say my dealership and service advisor were great considering they did this all on their own accord. I'll chime back in with the part number of the one I had and the one I end up with. -
Upgrading Speakers in 2015 TC XLT w/ Sync

Abe, Thank you for posting the wire colors. They don't seem to match up with your observance of the black wires you first commented on. Can you address that? -
Keyless Entry Keypad
kookmyers replied to windguy's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs & Remote Start
First, let me say I appreciate the attempt to help. Thank you! The keypad is not working and I have given up since I think I have tried all I can. I can get into programming mode. I have been able to take my two working fobs and make it so just one of them works, and then performing the process again and getting both to work. Other than the lights on the keypad, i have no indication that it is sending a signal. I have only tried pushing the last 2 buttons on the keypad to send a "lock all" signal without entering the access code. I really hope the dealer can help me. Otherwise my keypad will be up for sale here! -

Yes, I have two fobs and the keypad. Where do I stand? I am relying on you guys to solve this! I've done all I can think of. I have also reached out to the dealer. I just bought the van, wait, "wagon" on Friday and I am hoping they will help out. -

I made the mistake of attaching the keypad to my tailgate before programming it. I followed the instructions with the video and with people's comments in this thread and I have been unable to get it to program. I seem to be able to enter programming mode as verified by the two chimes and can get the key fobs to chime as well. I should note that the TC was optioned with the 2 extra keys, but I only got 2 from the used car dealer. It's a 2014 and I bought the ES7Z-14A626-A part. Any advice? I had my GF helping to push the button without opening the door to get out to the hatch... I was also successful programming one key from outside the van at the hatch. Also, I enter programming mode only by turning the key 8 times and finishing in the off position after the 8th. It is then that I get the chimes. -

I am also eventually going to want to do this as well. Glad to have someone leading the way! I would make the same assumption about the tweeter. -
Keyless Entry Keypad

Just bought one tonight. Was pretty excited until I read the directions and saw that the battery is not replaceable. It said to replace the whole unit. Seriously?
