I ordered it, cant wait till its here. Happy New year to you guys!

yes, I looked at them all. They go into a wiring harness to the back of the radio.
-
interesting, so i would just plug my XM radio into that and it would play over a FM station? thats a viable option for sure. thanks bud
-
thanks guys, I changed out the radio and it made no difference. I also did the procedure GBL mentioned and nothing...I dont get it. I'll die if I have to listen to FM radio lol
-
thats what i was thinking but i dont know what else it could be. the wires to the aux jack are fine.
-
Found one on ebay for 99. we will see if that does the trick. I have to have XM radio!
-
yes the AM-FM works fine, cd plays. I got a new 3.5mm plug from ford and it made no difference. I guess the radio is shot.
-
Its a 2010 Transit Connect XLT. I have my XM radio plugged into the headphone jack and it will not play any sound. I tried a different cord and device with no success. Need a new radio??

yea im gonna take it to a pro to recharge. The leak was easy to find, two hoses rubbed against each other and caused a hole. I have a new hose on the way and will put it on, just have to get it recharged.

I have a hole in my AC tube on my transit. I have attached a pic, its #14. Re charging my system, is this something I can do with one of those cans at auto zone? thanks

help diagnosing vibration/noise from front end

Thats what I am thinking as well. From what I have found, you can buy the bearing but have to get it pressed in, you cant buy the whole assembly. Is this something any shop can do or do I need to take it to ford? -
So my 2010 transit connect is making a annoying sound from the front end now. It was doing something similar a few months back, but would get louder the faster I went, I changed the right halfshaft bearing and it went away. Now, its doing it again but different. It sounds like I have mud tires on the van, best way to describe the sound. Plus, there is a slight vibration I can feel in the pedals. When I take a turn to the left only, it goes away. Could that bearing have gone bad again? As I speed up it gets better so im thinking thats not it, its probably the worst at 45-55mph. Im thinking wheel bearing or possible CV joint? I jacked the car up and laid under it while it was in gear and going about 45 and really couldnt hear much, so Im kinda leaing to maybe a wheel bearing. Just wanted to see what you think and what a good way to nail down the cause is. thanks!

for sure, i'll be lurking the forums

well I pulled the valve cover off for the 27th time and found that my timing was indeed off. It had skipped a few teeth somehow. I corrected it, fired it up and no more code. Finally I think I may have this job done. I learned alot from doing this, bottom line, I should have taken the head to the machine shop when I got it, and not assumed anything. Im just very pleased how well its running and how much I learned. Thanks for all your help and insight GBL.

correct GBL. I will let you guys know how it does this week.

so I found my Crankshaft position sensor was cracked. Got a new one and it came with the alignment tool. Got it installed perfectly, started it up and it runs great. So far, the code stayed away. Im gonna drive it and see what happens. Hopefully that was it. Fingers crossed!
-
Yea I thought about that, there is no evidence of any impact. I went ahead and swapped sensors with my other van with only 24K miles. I am going to double check my timing tomorrow to make sure its 100%. It could be the CKP and CMP sensor are not 100% in sync. I have a buddy who used to work at Ford as a master mechanic and has the software to scan my ecu. I 'll bring it by his place if I cant make any progress with it. Im gonna figure it out!
-
thanks for the replies, I took the cover off and found the bolts closest to the camshaft position sensor loose as suspected, so I tightened them down and the clicking sound went away and I thought the P0340 code as well. This morning when I started it, the code came back in. I swapped CMP sensors off my other van and it made no difference so I know the sensor is good. Im afraid I have a wire shorted or broke somewhere I guess. Trying to find a diagram to see how to test it. It runs really nice though, very smooth even with the code...so close

ok so the machine shop topped a few valves and I have my clearance, also had them re deck the head. Turned out great. Got it all back together and it fired right up, no misfire. However there is a strange clicking sound coming from the valve cover, almost like one of the cam brackets is lose...and I have a P0340 crankshaft position fault code thrown. Gonna pull the valve cover and double check my torque on the bolts.
-
I did check all the other valves, all are in spec, not sure why that one is so far out. Im just gonna take it to a machine shop and let them figure it out. I will have the head off tonight after work and i'll drop it off tomorrow. thanks for your interest GBL!
-
ok, so I checked my clearances, and the valve that was burnt has none at all. I could not get any feeler through it. Obviously this means its holding the valve down causing my horrid compression and burnt valve. I took the exhaust cam out, and swapped it with the lowest cap I had from my old head and it barely made any difference. Not sure what is causing this, but bottom line is the head has to come off and be taken to a pro to figure it out. I cant risk installing it again and it not be 100% right. I'll keep you posted with what I do.
-
I'll take the valve cover off and check the clearances, this engine has no adjustment though, all you can do is replace the cap. That would be cool if thats all it was, I really dont want to pull the head again.
-
So I did the compression test and I only have 35 psi in the same cylinder now, major problem. I did liquid test the valve that was bad, the guides looked good. I guess I will tear the head back off and just take it to a machine shop and see whats up. Makes no sense, I guess its cursed.
