  1. After driving our Transit for over 17,000 miles my wife calls me on the cell and said "what is this weird light on the dash". I said I have no idea and told her if it isn't red keep driving. Had to look it up in the owners manual. Sure enough there is away to light up the extra red lower tailights. Had no clue of such a option or even heard of any other car that can do that. Preety cool! Just pull the light switch knob out while in the the on posistion to make work. What will those Turkish people think of next?
  2. That had to be more than just a "impulse buy"!
  3. Thanks for the info, it will help me decide what to do next.
  4. .........but it does not come with rear speakers stock. Does anybody know if there is actual rear speaker outputs on the back of the radio so if one were to install rear speakers that fader control would have something to actually fade?
  5. I did what others suggested here and replaced the factory front speakers with Alpine SPS-500 speakers. I have them currently connected to the weak factory am/fm/cd player which will change in the future. It was a simple install that improved the sound quality at freeway speed when you turn up the volumn to compensate for road noise. Sure, I was hopeing that the added quality would leave me not needing a more powerfull head unit but thats not the case. It still has less quality sound than most other vehicles with a decent factory stereo. Here is a few pics showing the factory speaker, slit cut in insulation to get extra wire length for easy of connection, new Alpine SPS-500 speaker installed and duct tape used to reseal the insullation. Hint: be sure to realign all the white plastic door planel screw blocks before reinstalling door panel.
  6. Thanks, I'll try put lubeing those point to. My squeek sounds like rubber against steel. I went so far as to drop the spare tire and make a big round felt gasket to go between the spare and the floor, to no avail. I think it's still the rear doors though as the pitch will change sometimes after messing with the doors.
  7. Hello. Found this forum while surfing for info on stereo replacement. I have a 2010 XLT wagon that I currenly have 15,000+ miles on that I bought during the federal tax wasting "cash for clunkers" deal. Replaced a worn out "98 Chevy Express full size van. This Little van has more floor to top rear door entry height than the fullsize van which was its major selling point to me anyway. Oh, and I suppose the consistant 24-26mpg vs, 14-15 for the old Chevy was a factor. Now if I just could find the creaky squeeek in the rear doors I would be most happy with it. Ethan
