mugen_mike
I am looking to buy a particular Ford Transit Connect, 2006 model 85,000 mile. It looks like a great clean van and the owner is not hiding anything. Howver there is some oil on the turbocharger air hoses, see photo. Is this normal ? or is the turbo going to fail soon ? mrtn
No, the hoses are failing. The oil is coming through the cracks in the hoses. Have them replaced. There's a lot of pressure in them, so fix them well. The originals are rather expensive, I've heard of some silicone hoses off ebay, much cheaper. I went for the OEMs. I guss you only have to replace them once during the lifetime of the engine. Mine failed at 185Mm.
