Cooltoolguy
Hi all, new here to the forum, I have 3 connects, 2 -2014 and one 15 that are used for service runs. One of the techs using the van called me and said it’s getting the trans fault on the dash, but do a key cycle and it’s fine for a bit again, I’m 100 miles from where he is and before I head out to get the van, is there a sensor or something common that will give this issue? thank you steve
Don Ridley
The only way to troubleshoot is use a scantool to read the codes that set the fault light. Snapon, Autel etc. are what mechanics use but they are prohibitviely expensive. Forscan is free but requires an adapter that plugs into the OBD2 port. The cheap OBD2 readers you can borrow from the auto parts store will not read the important codes.
