driftmotion
I have a 14 FTC with the Navi package, which has the awesome color screen in the middle of the cluster. A few weeks ago, the cluster started showing up as white-ish. A few bumps allowed it go back to normal then it went bad again. I was hoping reconnecting the cable in the back would do the trick, but it didn't. PN for the TC screen LQ042T5DZ13C I didn't see any replacement screen available specific to the TC, so I bought a Escape one. PN is off by 1 digit. It's about $30 on ebay. PN for the Escape LQ042TD5Z11 Tools Needed: T15 Torx and T20 Torx Bits or It's T20/T25 forgot First Step is to pull the top dash piece out. No bolts, just pull back towards the back of the car. It's just two clips on the back (front of the car) You'll see two torx on top of the cluster after pulling the trim piece off Then pull the trim piece on the bottom of the cluster. Which will reveal two Torx on the bottom. Then the cluster is free to slide out. There are 4 Torx screws on the back of the cluster that needs to be removed. Before it comes out completely, you'll notice a black cable with a tab. Just move the tab and free the cluster Then around the plastic housing of the cluster, you'll see several tabs. Just release the tabs to separate the black piece from the white plastic. Before you take the screen out of the tabs, unhook the ribbon cable on the back of the cluster by opening up the tab. The black piece that was screwed down with Torx. Then you are left with the cluster without the screen. There is a copper T/V shaped piece that goes in the middle and under the screen. Take note of how it looks before you remove the screen. There are two tabs on top in different direction, and two on the bottom holding the screen in. The top two can be bend easily and slide the screen out. Then replace it with the new ebay screen, and reverse the installation. Before you put all the torx and trim back in, put the key in ignition and make sure everything works. Enjoy! BSJBSJ
