Center high mount third brake light issue.... after led install?

Recommended Posts

So quick resume on myself, I've been installing mobile electronics for decades.....multiple tvs, dvd, gps (before smart phones)... diagnosed electronic bugs in cars to semi trucks.....etc.etc...so I'm very familiar with findings shorts.

So here is what I did, I switched my brake light bulbs to LED in the taillights and noticed my third brake light on the roof stopped working.....OR maybe it's been out the whole time? Anyone else have this issue? It will flicker if I tap it....... I think I'm buying a new assembly.

Thanks, Adam

Probably a bad light or connection. The third brake light is an LED so it can have intermittent failure unlike an incandescent light.

I changed my brake lights to LED without any issues. I eventually switched back to incandescent bulbs because I think they are brighter due to the tail light housing and reflector design.

That happened to me , the problem was the male pins solder to the board assembly,  I did a hole I the plastic close to the pins and soldered it back to the board and no problems so far....!
