topher
Hello Everyone. Currently my wife has a 2012 Transient Connect and the Drum brake self adjuster pops out constantly due to heat. Or the adjuster maximizes itself for no good reason. These brakes get so hot you cannot touch them for extended periods of time after use. Folks in Europe (England) swap their drums brakes out to disc for this exact reason. I cannot locate a kit that works on an American version of the Transient Connect. Would anyone be able to help me locate a kit? Thank you in advance. Edited December 6, 2021 by topher
Campervanman
Should I assume based on this post and no replies that there's no way to add rear discs to a 2010-2013 TC? I hate drum brakes with a passion. No way to swap over any parts from a Focus or anything?

We've wanted to locate cross reference or cross over parts from the Ford Focus, but even after joining a Focus community, we're not getting much support. Often this means having to take some chances and doing the ground work ourselves. I'm sure it's plausible, but it's going to take a lot of time researching with minimal rewards. Too bad. I'm in the midst of working on my rear brakes so right now I'm particularly frustrated by them. Hopefully once I replace pretty much every part of the brakes aside from the drums and backing plates I can just forget they exist for the foreseeable future. I was really hoping it might be an easy/direct replacement with some parts from a Focus, but I guess the rear end of the TC is significantly different from the Focus. Campervanman
Well yeah I'm sure a conversion would require swapping out part of the e-brake cable like he talks about in the video. Not a huge deal. But obviously for a swap that is from one Focus trim level to another it's easier because you know parts are out there that will fit. In our case, I'm just wondering if there are even parts in existence that will bolt up to the TC axle. Seems like maybe I'm hearing some Euro TCs came with rear discs? Would probably be a hassle to chase down all the parts in the US, or ever replace parts if something broke. Also it's worth noting that we may not be talking about exactly the same thing because my TC is the old gen (2011). So I assume the Focus I might get parts from would be the 2008-2011 Focus, whereas with the newer TC, if there are any parts that would fit, they would probably come from the 2012+ Focus. No, it's just extremely popular to switch to disc brakes. See it in the facebook group all the time.

So people do do this frequently? With Focus parts?
mrtn
Just saw someone using Mondeo (Fusion) parts recently.
