denverfog
Hi all, So this is a weird one: i had to replace the driver's side wiper arm on my 2014 Transit Connect because my wife tried to run it while it was frozen to the windshield and chewed up most of the teeth in the hole on the arm. The teeth on the motor's drive gear looked fine. Initially i noticed the bad wiper arm wasn't traveling all the way up so I temporarily reseated it higher on the windshield to get the correct travel (ie to 90 degrees). I got a new wiper arm on ebay and installed it down low on the windshield roughly parallel to the driver's side arm (roughly where I think it should be) but it keeps going "home" to the previous spot which is several inches up on the windshield. The new arm keeps coming "home" to this spot higher up on the windshield. Everything works fine, except for this small part that's kind of driving me crazy (I know, I know, my OCD). I also just kind of want to understand what's going on. Any ideas?
Don Ridley
Looks like Forscan has a procedure for wiper calibration.. This may work if you manually reset the wiper to the home position. Using Forscan requires an adapter. Search this forum and YouTube for Forscan details.
