whitetransit10
So I am new on here and i had an electrical question. I recently had a subwoofer hooked up in my car, but needed to take it out due to a job that required the use of the whole van. Anyway i noticed the power wire from the amp to the back of the head unit had become disconnected. At a stop light i tried to put the wire back in but i think i touched either a different connection or the metal piece on the amp. There was a spark and now the radio doesn't turn on. And also when i start my car its takes all the gauges about ten seconds to turn on. Does anyone know if i blew a fuse or is the the wiring thats shot now? any help would be much appreciated. sean
azdamay
I would definitely check fuses, the fuse block is on the bottom left of the dashboard. There is a legend on the inside of the panel that covers the box that shows what the fuses are, or you can look in the owner's manual. That would the easiest thing to check first. I did that once while replacing lights on my car, and thought I had just wiped out some expensive LED bulbs, only to find I had simply blown the lighting fuse (which, in retrospect, I probably should have pulled BEFORE replacing the bulbs). jimpurcell
azdamay, thanks for confirming where the fuse box is. I read it in the manual, but looking at it I didn't believe it. I must be blind as a bat.
