KMPKMPKMP
Hi everyone, New to this site and owning a transit. We have a 2012 transit connect 2.0 we got with a bad transmission. Had it professionally rebuilt. still having problems with it shifting into 3rd. checked the scan tool and its saying at idle the throttle position is reading 16%. replaced the throttle body, and the gas pedal. still reading 16% Could this be one of my problems? also in the transmission we replaced the wiring harness and solenoids. I ordered another ECM from LKQ thinking that might be an issue but I'm guessing we need to get it flashed to the new body? when I plugged it in the vehicle would not even start? Any help or advice would be apprecieated. Thanks Kyle

G B L
What happens when it shifts into third? With the Ignition on and the engine not running what is the percentage of the throttle body. If you push the gas all the way to the floor ( ignition on engine off ) what is the percentage. Edited August 20, 2016 by G B L
Tedg
I have a 2010 with 156,000 miles on it. For the most part it has been an amazing workhorse. survived three years working in the hot vegas heat. But recently, in the past 14K miles, it developed a slipping of the 3rd gear. It happened so randomly. I took it to a transmission specialist who went to is resources and discovered that the overdrive node can become defective over time. He replaced for $500. Drove it and said it was great. The very next day it did it again. Still very random but quite jolting. When it happens, it drop out of gear to neutral, then shift back and it is fine. I can go days without an issue, then BOOM!, 3-4 times in one drive. Very random. I took it to Ford and they drove it for two days; hot, cold, up hill, down hill, and never found it. (of course. elusive auto mechanical gremlins are like that). Does anybody have any thoughts or feedback?
Stellair
Hey Tedg We are having a similar problem with our 2012, it has 125,000 Km. Seems like our 3rd gear is gone at times. Skips 3rd and shifts hard into 4th. Usually going up a hill. We brought it in to a transmission shop. Said we need a rebuild. Has any one had a rebuilt transmission put in? Does anyone know what they up grade? It's pretty pricey to have it done here in Canada and we don't want to replace it with the same transmission with no upgrades and get the same results.
