AutoDetailerUK
Hello Forum, hope someone can help. I bought a T200 Transit Connect last week, it didn't come with the Owners Manual and no speakers. The radio turns on etc. I had an old 25w speaker that I plugged in and the radio worked fully. However I bought some new 165w speakers, when I attached these up no sound. I then linked the old 25w speaker back up and this also didn't work.....have I blown a fuse somewhere? And if so, is this a fuse in the radio or fuse compartment? I have looked at the fuse compartments, but without a manual cannot work out which fuse is for the radio....and the diagram on the lids do not give any indication as to which is for the radio. Thanks for any help on this matter,
G B L
Go to ford Uk and owners and download the manual You will need the year and model or the Vin . This will get you the fuse diagram Keep us posted AutoDetailerUK
AutoDetailerUK
Many thanks GBL, I didn't even need the VIN number to get the manual. That will come in handy. Regards the fuses, checked and all ok. I'm thinking it may be an internal fuse within the radio that might have blown, even though the radio is functioning. It's the basic 6000CD that came with the van. Not the easiest to remove without the proper kit, but I'll get it sorted. Sick of driving in silence. Once again many thanks. 103west43rd
Hello AutoDetailerUK, the 6000CD, as per the Ford Wiring Diagram Manual, does not have a internal fuse. It does use two fuses in the fuse panel under the dash as I am sure you have checked by using GBL's advise. AutoDetailerUK
AutoDetailerUK
103west43rd - yes I've checked the fuses, so I'm a bit stuck now....I'll visit my local audio place, however one thing I've noticed when I press the button ON, is that it displays UNCONFIGURED I've got the 6000CD manual and it dies not mention UNCONFIGURED anywhere in it, also I've had no luck searching Google. Many thanks for taking the time to write.
103west43rd
AutoDetailerUK, well, at least you now know it is not a fuse! Unconfigured is the key. The factory radios communicate with other electronics in the van such as the LCD display in the speedo cluster. If you could check for a trouble code, I bet you will find U0155 or U0238 or U0140. The radio not communicating could be anything from broken speaker wires, bad connections on the back of the radio, to even low (less than 10 volts) battery voltage. Good luck. G B L
Hi guys 103 west43rd does your wiring diagram show where the speaker wires plug together? Does the Oem radio use a control head amp setup?
103west43rd
GBL, no external amp, the radio is self-contained. The speaker wiring harness is simple. leaving the connector on the back of the radio, it splits twice behind the radio, one cable run each to the front doors. Each door has a connector.
