johnsonmy
On my 2011 TC XLT wagon, my headlight low beams cut off when I select my high beams. I want th have both beams stay on when high beam is selected, just like my 2006 Ford Freestyle does. Any thoughts? Thanks.
103west43rd
Hello johnsonmy, the theory behind low beams going off when high beams come on is how your eyes and brain process the light. We concentrate on looking at the brightest portion of the road so, with the high beams on, we should be looking further down the road. If the low beams are on along with the high beams, we still will look just in front of the vehicle. mrtn
mrtn
1) bright foreground will strain your eyes unnecessarily when keeping your focus on bright background, it's a balance of exposure that's important, just like in a camera. 2) headlights with High/Low in the same enclosure cannot be used due to extreme heat generated in the same space.
