I'm planning to diy a small, compact camper - just for me so it's going to be quite a simple affair.

I need a base vehicle - having looked at just about everything on the market I'm down to a choice between a VW Caddy and a LWB Connect.

I keep changing my mind which way to go - I was convinced to go the Connect route until I read some horrendous tales of tyre wear, alternator wirings, wheel alignment etc etc and it's rather got me worried.

On the other hand, the VW Caddy forums have some pretty sad tales.

So, I know you're all Connect fans but convince me that it's the way I should go.

T/C owner since 8/28/09, 12K plus miles, perfectly content other than wanting to get the inside finshed! Just came in from giving it a bath. All better now.
