TikTokToddy
Hi, I'll try and attach a pic later. But I have a rather alarming issue with an otherwise ok transit connect 63plate, 84K miles. I tend to only travel short journeys but sometimes as I stop I notice white smoke coming from the rear of the engine and to the left side. It is quite localised. 2 garages have failed to identify the cause but I cant force it to happen when I want it to so that a mechanic can see it. The van is in really good condition and I would hate for this to become a catastrophic fault. I cant tell if the smoke smells oily or rubbery. It happens for perhaps less than 1 minute after switching the engine off so there is little time to investigate. But I cannot ignore it - something somewhere is burning. Fifty150
White smoke could be water. Black smoke is usually oil.

TikTokToddy
Here is a clip of todays incident. I left the engine running. The smoke is all to the left / behind timing belt area. Apologies it only a few seconds. Edited July 3, 2023 by TikTokToddy
