G B L Posted April 6, 2023 Share Posted April 6, 2023 To measure the clearance is straight forward to adjust them requires the removal of the camshafts and that will require the cam timing to be involved. A formidable job and with a transverse engine . The 2.5 engine timing is a challenge as the crank sprocket does not have a key and relies on the clamping force of the balancer. G B L Posted April 7, 2023 Share Posted April 7, 2023 There is no regular interval. The better job you do on keeping the Oil clean the longer the Cam phaser and chain guides will last. Some of the 2.5s have clocked large mileages over 300000mi. It pays to keep the oil clean.
