Macgyver56
Greetings, all! I did a search, so if this is a known issue and I missed it, please just aim me in the right direction. 2020 TC XLT, cargo van. The switch to enable/disable the air conditioning system in the van has failed. The little light on the button turns and off, but the a/c is permanently 'enabled'. That doesn't mean it runs all the time. It's just awake and will respond when needed. The rest of the climate controls work as they're supposed to, so I can get the a/c to shut down by turning up the temperature control. Not a bad time of year to have this happen, and since I was out in the midwest during the recent heat wave, I'm glad it failed in an enabled state, but it still means there's something wrong somewhere. Has anyone else run into this, and know where the fault has occurred? I've had the van in for servicing at the dealership once, and they couldn't locate the problem. I have another appointment with them for a longer, more intensive search to figure out where something has failed, but I thought I'd check here, with the 'hive mind', to see if anyone else has encountered anything similar. Thanks in advance.
Don Ridley
The switch sends a message to the HVAC control module. The HVAC control module sends a info the the body control module BCM. Troubleshoot where the message is getting stuck.
