1. I thought I would give everyone an update. I now have had our TC for almost 1 year. I am towing with it. I have 50,000 miles and Have close to 40,000 mile towing. I have had to replace the tires on both the TC and Trailer. The Trailer scales at 2,000 lbs and I am still under the rear axle weight by 600lbs. For what I am doing the TC is working out great. I have gone over steep grades with it and still passed the 18 wheelers. I average 17mpg towing at 70mph. At 20,000 miles I took it in because of noise. It was diagnosed as tire noise. At 40,000 miles it turned out to be a wheel bearing and that was not from towing. Ford did cover it under warranty. I love my TC and it is doing well. It is the perfect van for what I need to perform my business with. I agree with most of you and would prefer to have a diesel engine.
2. Hi Bike Hauler, How did you hear about the TC and what brand of trikes do you have? I have had mine since last May and put over 27,000 miles on it since. I use it for a SAG Wagon service and you can find out more about us at www.bikesag.com. I have been curious if one or two trikes would fit in and now you answered that question. Thanks!
3. I too have a TC and I am towing with it. I have to keep the speed down and not use the cruise control. Don't expect to travel fast and let the TC slow down when pulling a grade. It will keep up with the 18 wheelers on the hills. I have over 15,000 miles on our TC in the past three months. We use it for our business and do a lot of traveling with it. We pull a 6X 12 enclosed trailer with 300lbs tong weight. Trailer gross close to 1600#. Most of our miles are towing. You can visit our website and see what we actual do and how we are using our TC. We have a lot of photos showing that we do tow whit it. I also live in FL and have traveled to N. GA with it. I will be leaving soon taking our operations to Las Vegas NV for Interbike.
4. Hello Bikehauler, Are you still loving your TC? I do I only had it now for 6 weeks and have over 8,000 miles on it. I use it for business mostly as we have a new company called BIKE SAG. We are a SAG Wagon service here in the Southeast and will be expanding if all goes well. We travel a lot with our TC. So what recumbent trikes to you and your wife ride? I am see more recumbents every day. Keep On Biking
