Hi- Count me in as a customer for your poptop. It would make a nice camper conversion addition.

Hi- Just a question about ceiling insulation. Does anyone know the thickness of foam insulation with foil paper aluminum backing that I can I install on top of the cargo area headliner without deforming the headliner on reinstalation. Also how should the insulation be installed. With the foil backing on the headliner or towards the van roof. Thanks

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to temporarily disable the reverse sensing system while I am pulling a small utility trailer? I can pull a fuse I think but am wondering if there is an easy way to unplug the system?

Towing with the Transit Connect
hkr701 replied to isellford's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
I have a bicycle rack that fits into a trailer hitch on the Transit Connect. I also have the reverse sensing system. Is there a way to disable the system? Is there a fuse that I can pull out? I can't seem to find a fuse for this system in the owners manual. Any help would be appreciated. -
Hi- I'm happy to see someone planning to use the transit connect for weekend camping also. This is what I was going to use mine for as well. I am planning also to put a trailer hitch for a bike rack on mine but I need to know how to disable my reverse sensing system when I am carrying bikes. Keep us updated on your progress.

Also in Canada they don't offer the XL model in any van or wagon. Only the XLT. The vans also don't offer the sliding door windows. Only the wagon has them. The real difference is in the price. The list price in Canada for the base XLT van is 26799. The van with back windows is 27299. The base wagon is 28299. On top of all these prices is shipping of 1400. I would hope that Ford of Canada will adjust some of these prices knowing that the Canadian dollar is getting closer to par with the US dollar. Also in Canada we have a federal tax of 5% and in Ontario a provincial tax of 8%. All these factors make the Connect up to 30% more expensive than in the US. I hope they change something if they want to sell a lot of Connects in Canada.

Just a question. If all the vans arrive at the port as wagons what happens to the wagon seats and the sliding side door windows. Are these shipped back to Turkey to be used again or are some seats and side windows for sale here in the US at some warehouse or Ford dealer.

Hi- I plan on installing a trailer hitch on the Transit Connect to carry a bike hitch or a cargo carrier. I hope this does not affect the warrenty. I would think that it could pull a motorcycle trailer or a small pop up trailer as well as the Honda Element. The Element has only about 600 or 700 lbs load capacity and that I think includes the passengers.

I did it- just ordered a connect- with windows in the back- in canada we are very limited as to the colours and availability- ordered it in red- hopefully dealer will be able to dealer trade to source my connect sooner- want to use it as a daily driver but also to convert it into a mini camper- have seen many variations on europe camper forums- tourneo connect is used mostly in europe for campers- hope the dealer can find me a connect soon- thanks

Are transit connects shipped to usa with seats and windows installed as a passenger van and then the second row seats and sliding door windows removed to make them into a work van. Also is the floor modified here to make it into a work van from the passenger van. Thanks
