Just about any aftermarket stereo is better than the stock unit. I started off by just replacing the 5 1/4 speakers in the door ( 80 dollar kickers) the original speaker magnets are so small (I think I have larger magnets on my fridge). After replacing speaker the sound was much better but I still wanted more so I got a single din alpine. Now the sound is decent and Bluetooth works great it came with an aditional mic ( original mic no one could understand me)

If you want to know the polarity the easiest way to tell is by unplugging original speaker and take a aa battery . First touch negative end of battery to one of the original speaker terminals next take a piece of wire and touch the positive end of the aa battery and the other end of the wire to the other speaker terminal if the cone pulses out then polarity is the same as battery connected and if cone pulls in its the opposite
