The biggest gripes we hear from our customers mainly fall into three categories. Mounting Points - Need more especially on the roof. The current spot is so far forward some Ladder Racks realistically have to be bolted through the roof for proper heavy duty installations. Towing - Currently the recommendation stands as it's not a towing vehicle, some companies are making equipment for this but Ford's recommendation is not to use this for towing Battery Life - This may have been fixed on the new model year but the initial batches that came off the Assembly Lines did not keep a charge. The battery would be completly dead if the vehicle sat for longer than two weeks. (Not an issue if you use it everyday but everyone needs to take a vacation from time to time) These are the most common complaints we hear from the guys who use the Transit everyday. Hey guys, I'm Darek with Inlad Truck & Van Equipment out of Lombard IL. I have heard about this board in passing through a couple different customers but until yesterday never actually logged in. We work on Ford Transits almost everyday so it's great to see a community of people that share the passion for this very neat vehicle. All the talking points are great but there is nothing greater than cutting your transport bill in half while still being able to accomplish what's needed on your jobsite. We are out of Lombard IL and are a vehicle Upfitter. We take your basic work vehicles and turn them into money making machines. That could mean installing a ladder rack, putting in a partition, wiring up emergency lights, or doing something completely custom. If you ever have a question on a particular piece of equipment don't hesitate to shoot me an email or give us a call. Currently in our lot we have roughly 60 transits ready for up fitting. The up fits vary greatly based on the trade our customer is working but the great quality of work is always the same. Our company runs www.transitvanequipment.com and our main site www.inlad.com (there are more but you can check them out yourself if interested.) Anyways just wanted to say hello and make us available to answer any questions! If your on Facebook click here and check out the upfit albums. (You don’t need to be a member, just click on “Albums” and select Transit Connect Upfits) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Inlad-Truck-Van-Equipment-US-Upfitters/162628143753472 There is a whole transit section that shows equipment installed in the actual vehicle. As the days go on this will become a bigger and better resource but even today it has enough to get most people comfortable and aware of what they are considering to purchase. I look forward to answering some questions; hope you have a profitable day! Best Regards, Darek S. www.inlad.com

Two resources for options on the Transit Connect Ladder Racks. (I work for this company *full disclosure*) http://www.transitvanequipment.com/fordtransitconnectladderracks.aspx and http://www.inlad.com/fordtransitconnectladderracks.aspx There are 4 different manufacturers that are making racks specific to the Transit (I'm sure there are more but these are the 4 i'm familliar with) Prime Design - These guys have taken the Transit and really thought the racks through. They offer different drop down options, clamp downs, and even wide platforms. Good weight capacity all aluminum construction and a fair price. Volume wise this is one of the most popular items we sell for the Transit. Topper Manufacturing - Similar to the cargo carriers you have seen on Full Size Fords\Chevy's - Only one option currently but a great rack with a high weight capacity and a wide platform. Adrian Steel - A number of Options these guys really shine in the dropdown options; big brand name a go too for many fleets. Weather Guard - A late comer to the Transit equipment but they have created a very nice rack at a fair price. Depending on your field of work certain brands will be a closer fit than others. For general non specific use Prime Design and Topper offer affordable options. If you are interested in a Drop Down option Prime Design and Adrian Steel are the way to go. As always if you have a question about a specifc rack give us a shout and we can get you more info. Best Regards, Darek www.inlad.com
