peteylad
Hi there, Does anyone know of a way to disable the passenger airbag on a '05 Connect? Read that there is a sensor in the seat of a '10 but is this the same for the earlier models? Is there an option to plug it in and have it cancelled on the ECU? Would be willing to cancel both airbags if necessary. The reason for cancelling is that I occasionally have to use a child seat in the van, so could do with it turned off somehow. Thanks
Tranzy
Better to take it to the dealer, I am sure they will have to re-program the computer modular to accept the new codes, if you decide to deactivate them.
103west43rd
Best for you to try the UK Transit site, Fordtransit.org, and click on the Transit Connect forum. They have over 200 entries on airbags. The US has only had the Transit Connect since 2010. In the US, the front passenger seat senses if there is a child seat attached and disables the airbag. We are also warned that using a child seat in the front is not recomended. The child is safer in the rear seats. I am guessing you only have the front seats in your van.
