MarcusBrody
I built a two person, folding sleeping platform for my second gen Transit Connect a few years back. It lets you have the middle seats up then fold out to a near full size bed. Then I had a kid to make three people in the family and the platform got less use as someone had to use a tent anyway and so it was less useful. Now we're moving and I don't think I'll take it so if anyone would like it, I'm in Western Massachusetts along and I'd be happy to let them have it. I use a couple of cam/wratchet straps with it that someone would need, but other than that, it's good to go. If anyone is interested, just let me know. Link to the full album of pictures. i86hotdogs
Wow, this looks like a well built piece. I wish I was a little closer to take this off your hands. Currently, when we sleep in the back, we just throw a twin mattress back there, and hang some blackout curtains behind the front seats. Does the job. stealthwhip
I'm in Boston, & like what you've done there. I have a 2010 T.C. & think my interior dimensions might not work out. Can you give me the length & width?

I did the mattress too when we first got the Connect. It worked well enough. The main advantage of the platform was being able to store things underneath, which was big when road tripping. It's sized so that plastic tubs slide under. 1 hour ago, stealthwhip said: I'm in Boston, & like what you've done there. I have a 2010 T.C. & think my interior dimensions might not work out. Can you give me the length & width? Sure. I'll measure it later today. Off the top of my head, I think it's sized about 40in long x 46 wide for the back frame/top and the fold out section (which I forgot to mention you can store linens inside during the day) makes it end up being about 76-78 inches long. I'm 6'3" and can just sleep comfortably top to bottom (we slide the front seats up a couple of clicks). i86hotdogs
regcruz
Is this still available? I''m willing to drive up to pick this up. I just bought the same exact van (2014), and this is exactly what I've been looking to build. We were already looking for a reason to road-trip. I was lurking this forum, and made this account as soon as I found your post.
