Why Does Bluetooth Volume Suck So Bad?

Is there anyway to increase the volume when using BT? I can barely hear the person on the other end thru the door speakers. Radio volume knob has no effect. Where is the mic located? I've looked around the drivers side door, etc. Just can't seem to find it.

If you have the OEM Ford "Nokia" Bluetooth, the microphone is the little pod sitting at the top of the left side A-pillar. As I mentioned to you before, the Bluetooth sucks. Depending on your phone, you may need to turn the volume on the phone up. The first phone I had, the volume control on the phone made no difference and I got a message saying to use the volume on the Bluetooth device. The new phone the company gave me to replace the old one, the volume control has a HUGE difference on the overall volume when on Bluetooth. If I forget to turn it up, the voice on the other end sounds very faint. But bottom line the Bluetooth is not great. When I really need to make sure someone can hear me (and I am driving), I take my chances and turn off the Bluetooth on the phone and use the phone normally. At some point I may even give up and go back to my Jawbone II.

This thing has the Ford Work Solutions Marelli Magnetti unit. I checked the manual & couldn't decipher if it's Nokia's or not. I know the built in Nav is Garmin but not sure if BT is M/M or Nokia spec.

Tried boosting phone volume but my BB 9650 doesn't appear to have BT volume control. Going to poke around some more but, like you, I suspect I'm going to have to live without a feature I feel is essential to safely operating any vehicle.
