Connect owner UK
Hi everyone, I finaly got rid of my old renault kangoo, and am now a Connect owner. I know we have had them for a few years here now, (and in two different sizes) but I've had mine for 4 weeks now. Its not a brand new shiny one, its a 3 year old shiny one. (its my own vehicle, and I am not wealthy :( ) As with all british ones, its a 1.8 diesel manual.
Connect owner UK
Here is my TC, it has the front end that came out before being released for north America. I went for one with double side loading doors, not too common over her in the UK, the passenger seat folds down flat, and the cage folds out into the drivers compartment, allowing a longer load to be carried. Also, one pic shows it parked to a full sized ford transit.
Stan MI
Welcome to the forum !! Couple of questions. Your second picture show a safety screen behind the front seats. Any trouble with sliding the seats far enough back ? I had one in my first TC and just couldn't get far enough back to be comfortable. Third photo shows a "full size" TC. Would that be the same as an E-150 here ? Again, Welcome to the forum !!

The folding cage behind the seats actualy impose on the cargo area by about 4 inches, and are shaped to allow the seat to go right back on the runners, although it may not allow the seat to recline fully. The full size van is just called a transit, as they have been since about 1965. Like your econoline, its just a name. Its the same size as a sprinter. (approx) The word "connect" only came into the equasion when the liitle version came out in about 2002. This is my secont transit, but my first connect. I owned a Transit in 1971, and following the trend from the States, I customised it, mag wheels, grabber tyres, and custom interior. This one I own now, is purely a work van, as I do courier work. Sounds like your cage is the same as mine was. I could get the seat to go back all the way but then I couldn't recline it far enough to be comfortable. I think I'll just go without for a while and see if it works out. My first van was a 68 Dodge A-100. Wide tires, chrome wheels, shag carpet and great big speakers for the stereo. Ash tray always had a custom fill also. This one is strictly a work van. :-)
