MoveMaven
Just got my TC yesterday, and I love it, except that I can't get the Bluetooth to respond to voice commands that involve NAMES. It will place calls if I use the "CALL NUMBER" command, but when I say "CALL [NAME]" it says "Directory empty." although I can see my contacts listed on the dashboard display. Two guys at the dealership tried for an hour to figure out the problem with no success. I'd appreciation any advice, either how to fix it, or where to go for technical help. Thanks! gassydad
I am having the exact same problem. I get the phone book on the display and can use voice commands to call by number but when trying to use the name feature I get Directory empty. I have an iPhone G3 paired with the system The Ford rep from Detroit was at my dealer yesterday and had no answer.
Dave H
The bluetooth is a PITA! You have to program a name into the unit for it to respond to names. I think it will store up to 20 names- It can't recognize names directly from your phone's directory. As I said in my earlier post- no one at Ford (or Nokia for that matter) seems to know very much about this system! Hope this helps! From it, I've decided to buy an after market stereo, rahter than upgrading to to Ford Bluetooth unit. Sorry for all the trouble you're having.
