103west43rd
WASHINGTON — Ford is recalling 19,825 2014 Ford Transit Connect cargo vans in North America to reinstall the sliding door plastic panels, the automaker said on Thursday. There is a problem with "adhesion of an exterior plastic panel to the sliding doors," Ford said in a statement. "This issue may result in noise, a water leak, a loose panel or separation of the plastic panel from the vehicle while driving, potentially increasing the risk of an accident or injury." Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the recall. Affected vehicles are certain two-panel 2014 Transit Connect cargo vans built at the Valencia assembly plant from August 9, 2013 to September 20, 2014 and certain one-panel 2014 Transit Connect cargo vans, also built at Valencia assembly plant from August 9, 2013 to September 20, 2014. Ford dealers will remove and reinstall the sliding door plastic panels using proper materials and procedures, Ford said. The recall will begin the week of January 12. Owners can contact Ford customer service at (800) 392-3673. bikinchris
If and or when you bring in your Transit for this recall, ask them to get touchup paint. They will scratch the sliding door above and below the panel.
