xoo00oox
I have a small VW/Audi repair shop in upstate NY. I do a lot of restoration/ conversion work on Vanagons. At our shop, we build poptop camper roofs that can easly be put on passenger Vanagons in about a day. http://youtu.be/4-3Dt3XmsfY I have been thinking of adapting a roof to a TC. My question is, would there be enough of a demand to make a mold to create more of these and market them. The complete package for a Vanagon sells for $2800, I would try to keep the price similar. The pop up roof allows you to stand up inside the van during the day when parked for cooking/ changing/ living and sleeping in it at night. What are the thought or comments about this for a TC? ecore8
Interesting for sure, particularly if made to be low profile. I would have designed my camper a little different if I anticipated a poptop becoming available. Edited March 8, 2013 by ecore8

103west43rd
Andrew, nice work. Keep in mind, this is the last year for the present design Transit Connect. 2014 will bring the new design. There may not be enough 2010-2013 Transit Connects to make your start up investment worth it. The present design has been in Europe for many more years. How many VW Vanagon's were sold in the US? Transit Connect sales are 30,000+ a year. Too bad the shipping costs would prevent the European Transit Connect owners from buying your camper roof. hkr701
Hi- Count me in as a customer for your poptop. It would make a nice camper conversion addition.
jimpurcell
I sure would like it. But the distance from me to you would be a problem.
robertlane
Pretty nifty idea. I think you'd sell quite a bit of them to T.C. owners.
