Just found this TSB that I believe speaks to the issue we are all having. 14-0002.pdf

I've had the same issue going on as well and I just got the wrench on my dash. Ran a diagnostics and it came up with error code P 0733: The P0733 code means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected something unusual with the ratio of the third gear in the vehicle's transmission. Just had the 2-4 band replaced by a Ford Transmission shop as they thought that was the issue. It's clearly an issue with 2012's, in general, may be worth approaching Ford about it.
