Hello,
So I was pretty sure I would have been able to find a solution since it sounds like this has been described before, but both solutions I found on here did not work.
My shift lever is locked into Park and to put it into drive I must use a flathead screwdriver to bypass the shift interlock. After going into drive, the vehicle will drive fine and have been doing so this way for nearly 20,000 miles.
Around the same time this happened, I noticed the break circuit had blown a fuse. I traced this to whenever the brake pedal is pressed, the fuse is blown. I just found this article today:
I thought that might finally fix it and so I went to the Ford dealer since they had it in stock and paid $62 to find out that was not the fix. Press the brake pedal, still blows a fuse (I've gone through a ton at this point).
Previous to that, I had seen someone reference this recall to have been a fix for the stuck in Park issue as well:
I went out and got the bushing but found out that it is not the same on the 2011. Mine are the yellow ones. I played with the adjustment on the lever, moving it in increments fully from one side to the other without success, so I don't think a new bushing is going to help me here, but maybe I'm wrong? Mine didn't look too bad until I took them out they got a little mangled then but there wasn't slop when I put it back.
I do have the Wrench on the screen, when I use the scanner these are the codes I'm getting: P0504 and P0572
I'm a bit at a loss for what to try next here and hoping someone has some ideas? I do like this vehicle but man there are some serious ghosts...(I experience the strange door locking thing described elsewhere on the forum) and I've even pulled all 3 of the ECU cables then cleaned and packed them with dielectric grease and put it back together and it did not fix anything, either.
