  1. The Curt number is 56090. I got a Hopkins, don't know the number. Probably have to get over the Web or in a specialty tow shop, since the typical trinket stores (Tractor Supply, O'Reilly's, AutoZone) don't have it and they don't know what it is. You are looking for a converter that takes the separate turn/brake circuits (3) of the Transit down to the combined brake/turn circuits (2) of the trailer, but WITH an additional hot (battery) wire to supply the trailer lights, so that the trailer lights do not get powered through the Transit's turn signal circuits. The Hopkins kit was very nice, with a 20' 14 gauge battery wire. I ended up buying 20' of flexible plastic wire-covering to protect the wire and routed it through the passenger compartment, under rugs, etc. up through the firewall through one of two handy firewall rubber grommets which then feeds right into the engine compartment near the battery. Of course, you also have to locate the taillight/brake circuits in the back, which directions I think are available on the web if you google it (I did not do this part, so I can't help). Plan on spending about $100 and a couple of hours.
  2. Towed a 4x6 trailer 1000 miles this past week with absolutely no problems. Could hardly tell it was back there. Got 21 mpg loaded and 25 mpg on the return trip. This is better mileage than we used to get pulling this same trailer with a Toyota Matrix (same HP). The only wrinkle was needing to get the powered taillight converter. Installer had not used the required powered unit, the Transit's computer did not like it, and turn signals would flash fast and then no turns. No fuse was blown - after a new keystart, the system was back up, and with the proper 3:2 converter the lights work like a charm.
  3. Got it. Certainly stiff on the first try! Thanks.
  4. Where is the passenger fuse block on 2010? Book says under instrument panel to left of steering wheel, but that panel has OBD connector and the panel does not want to come off. There is.nothing behind the glove box either? Thanks.
  5. Got my Curtis hitch installed through the dealer at purchase. Will be towing first time tomorrow - 4x6 enclosed utility trailer. Probably 800-900 lb gross. We have 11k in 5 mos. And love it as a family car which my wife uses to haul around her large paintings.
