Mine was loose [driver side] right on the lot the day I bought my Transit then 2wks later I noticed the passenger side hanging. Both have been replaced by the dealer but I can see by the nature of it [glue on instead of channel inset] that this is going to be a chronic problem.

I have found an excellent space under the chassis to mount an auxillary battery box. It is just behind the rear axle and in front of the gas tank My only concern is whether this is too close for safety.Any informed advice? Is there a common rule of thumb regarding placement of batteries in proximity to gas tanks?

Thanks for the lead but it is overpriced and my first choice would be to mount directly to the body just above the sliding door and not on a roof rack. anybody got ideas?

Does anybody know of a side mount roll up patio awning that will fit the Transit?

I would love to get a little more ground clearance for my Transit. Does anybody know the largest tires that will work on the stock rims without problems.
