Thanks, will give that a try. I'm doubtful though, as it moves fine. The problem is actually that it moves too much. It shouldn't be allowed to pivot in the track, but it does. Almost like the wheel in the track has fallen off or worn down. Thanks, Sam

My sliding door has become quite stiff to close. I have come to realize the problem is that the part that slides through the track (pointed out in pic attached) is pivoting and so getting jammed in the track. Has anyone else ever encountered this? Any idea how to fix it? If not, even just a link to a guide for removing the sliding door would be helpful. I think what might have caused this to happen is that the mechanism that the slider bumps over to stay in the fully open position has always been stiff, and so it requires quite a bit of force to get it passed when closing the door. And that force might have damaged the rail, the wheels, or the spring. So if anyone has any tips on how to make that mechanism that keeps the door in the fully open position less stiff, I'd appreciate knowing that too. Thank you, Sam

Thanks Beta Done and DonShockley, that's very helpful. Quite heavy, explains why the cargo version has so much more payload than the passenger wagon! Good chance I'll be pulling it out to save some weight for my campervan build, thanks so much!

Does anyone happen to know or have a vague idea of how much the second row seats way? I'm wondering in particular about the 2/3 bench (larger 2 person seat). I'm trying to get a ballpark idea, plus or minus 20 pounds. Thanks! Sam

Very interesting sKiZo. I am hoping for a swing to the side rack though to clear the bikes totally out of the way when the doors open. I've also thought about somehow building something that attaches to the doors directly, as they already do the swinging motion I want, but I'm not sure if the hinges would hold up to that and kinda worried about modifying the door...

Has anyone found a hitch mounted bike carrier (rack) that can swing the bikes out of the way so that the rear cargo doors (not hatch model) can open to at least 90 degrees or preferably the full 180 degrees? Basically, I'd like to get full access to the back without taking the bikes off... any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Sam

Steering Wheel Extension (longer column)?
Bluega replied to Bluega's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Yah, probly going to give it a try. I'm still hoping though to hear back from Ford about an actual steering wheel column extension, says here such a thing exists: https://www.ford.ca/mobility/adaptive-equipment/list-of-adaptive-equipment/steering-devices/ -
Steering Wheel Extension (longer column)?

I've come across these: https://www.suregrip-handcontrols.com/steeringwheelexten I might give them a try, though definitely not ideal for still reaching all the controls.... -
Steering Wheel Extension (longer column)?
Bluega replied to Bluega's topic in Accessories and Modifications
I'm 6'7". I put the seat all the way back to get enough legroom but then I find the stearing wheel is too far away. This is the case for me on pretty much any car. I've heard about stearing wheel extensions elsewhere, and sounds like a lot of work that perhaps a job shop could do. I thought I'd ask specificaly here on the Transit Connect forum in case anyone has heard of anything. Thanks -
Does anyone know of a way (or company that can do it) to extend the steering wheel on the Transit Connect? I'm tall and push the seat all the way back but my arms aren't that long so I have to slouch forward to reach the stearing wheel even when it's telescopsed out all the way. Thanks, Bluega

I'm in the same boat: 2014 with passenger sliding door taking on water. I've found my drain holes on the front doors, but can't seem to locate them on the sliding doors. Can someone take a picture? MattsTC, any chance you could provide a pic of where you drilled the new holes?

I looked through the menu and didn't see anything about sync. Curious... I thought all 2014 xlts had sync. Oh well, just glad there is a line in jack! Thanks

I've got a 2014 XLT Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon and I'm wondering if it is equipped with Bluetooth. My understanding is that to setup Bluetooth you press the phone button and get a code to put in your phone. But when I press the phone button, all that happens is that the car radio is muted. Any suggestions on how I can figure out if I have Bluetooth? And if I do, then how might I get it working with my phone? Attached is a picture of the kind of radio system I have. Thanks, Sam
