2016 Ford transit connect wagon titanium interior was removed when the van was new and has been in Climate controlled storage for a few years. removed to make camper van and saved in case I ever want it to convert back to a passenger wagon. I have decided to stay I camper. The seats are in excellent condition and have virtually never been sat in. All the hardware and floor carpeting is included. $900 cash takes it all. Can be picked up up in Biloxi Mississippi. Bluther33@gmail.com ,I have many pictures that I can share and can take more if needed.I am not an expert at what all vans this interior could be fit into and I wouldn’t know how to ship it. But I do know the interior is in excellent condition and is worth way more than I’m asking. I’ll try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge which is limited , I am not a professional mechanic or an expert on ford interiors. Thank you

Having problems with the Hill assist/traction control / ABS brake/warning light coming on intermittently. Sometimes at startup and it goes away other times while driving on and off. When this happens I lose my speedometer and the steering gets harder. I have searched the forum for information with no luck. Google search has some info with others that heve experienced these issues but I am looking for some specific basic questions that I need some help with. Looks like there can be many caused but a faulty speed sensor is the #1 culprit of these issues and that is where I want to start my diagnosis. The first question - Is this only one-speed sensor or is these a sensory for all the wheels? Exactly where is the location of the Speed sensor and magnetic ring known for failure? The last question, for now, is - How complicated and involved is this job? I am a pretty good shade tree mechanic but Know my limitations. I would rather try to spend a little time trying to fix this myself if possible basically to try a avoid a high-cost repair bill. my vehicle is A 2016 Transit connect Titanium wagon. and most of my research seems to be on other models so I am looking for information specific to my van. Thanks for any advice on how to get my problem with this issue resolved.

2016 found seam leak , How serious of an issue ?
Bart Luther replied to Bart Luther's topic in Transmission
This is a picture of what I think is the transmission fluid inspection cover. . The location of this plug is very tight I had a hard time trying to get an allen wrench on it and when I finally did I couldn't get any leverage to break it loose what's the trick? -

Thanks for the advice all . I will definitely make time to bring my van to the( out of my way) dealership to have them check it out and hopefully fix ,while it is still under warranty. Good advice I appreciate it! My question is...... For in the future I want to be able to keep an eye on my fluid level . While under my van I noticed what I believe to be the inspection port. A plug that fits a big allen wrench .I tried to break it loose but the spot was so tight to get to I couldn't get enough leverage on the wrench to break the cover loose , what's the trick ? And where is the vent ? Next time I am down there I will look for it so I know where it is . Thanks again for all the tips ,tricks and advice! -
Changed the oil on my 2016 transit connect for the second time today .I have noticed the transmission seam leak is more prevalent. I can't get the fill cap out to check the transmission fluid level (why did ford put this in such a hard place to get to and no dipstick? ) van is still under warranty. Would you take in to have the service department Check this out if it where your van ? If they made this easier I would just empty and refill myself. I hate taking my van in for service for routine maintenance I have to work all week and it is very inconvenient for me, but I also don't want to run my transmission low on tranny fluid . Is there a easier way to check the fluid other than that inspection plug that I can't hardly get at and definitely can't brake loose .should this seem leak be covered under warranty?

Does a 2016 Transit Connect have a rain sensing windshield? I am asking because my rain sensor was replaced because my automatic rain sensing windshield wipers were not turning on automatically. After the sensor was replaced the the automatic windshield wipers still do not work. The dealer told me the van probably had the original windshield replaced and when they did so they didn't use the correct rain sensing windshield and that is why the automatic wiper function will not work in my van. I wanted to ask you all the experts if there is some truth to what the dealer has tolld me ? thanks for any input

Adventure van camper conversion

This wood box mounted to the floor added lots of space for my small camp stove, dry food, and plenty of cooking utensils / pots and pans my girlfrend loved it ! Used a towel to stop any rattling noises. Als box can be used for a passenger to sit on although I will have to add a seat belt . Simple removable lid with small rope pull worked great .cut out for side access will eventually have a door . Black storage plastic box worked great for support when the bed was folded out almost 6' long gave us plenty of room to stretch out and sleep comfortable -
I noticed several times water collecting on my floor matt around the gas pedal area . Not much but definitely a few drops (small pudding ) I did some light investigation and I see what appears to be the fan unit tucked behind the plastic shields . The must be something leaking from there ? Has anyone else had this problem? Any fixes ? Thanks!

I was able to fit all my camping gear in the van easily plus room for my girlfriends stuff and lots of extra gizmos for camping comfort. Still averaged over 25 mpg crusing at 80+ most of the way lots of hills .Very happy so far with the lay out . The weather was to nice to try out the low watt heater and solar generator. Also no bugs so didn't hook up the window and rear hatch bug screens. But the big glass moon roof was awesome to out and see all the stars -

I used a 2 inch raised adaptor for the kuat rack .worked perfect for giving me just enough space to raise the back door without hitting the rack -

Trial run with the adventure van went well . In my design I wanted to leave roolm to put a bike inside easily without having to take a wheel off or lower the seat . That long space also works good for long items like a big tent and . I used the Kuat 4 bike rack most of the time but was happy to be able to put the bike inside for security while hiking or going into town for supplies. -
My van was just under the 30000 mile mark and was still covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. The Ford dealer in my area covered this reprogramming of the module with no cost to me. Good luck everybody who would like to have their van put into dark mode I am going camping this weekend and won't be lit up like a Christmas tree

I would like to show the lounger turned and laid flat for a bed but the picture file is to large? Weird because it's the same as all the other pictures I took with my phone and not having any problems uploaded them ? I will take some more soon and try again. -
I have asked so others don't have to go through the hassle of what I had to go through. Ford customer service won't give me any specific technical information regarding my service ticket and the dealership will not either. "Dark mode" was the key term. Other than that I was not and will not get any further information from them .I even offered cash for the info and was told they could not accept and just to be happy they could help with my problem. Kind of weird?

This is a picture of the storage cabinets /raised bed platform test fit and temporary folding bed/lounger. I will eventually make some custom cushions and hinged folding bed platform but this will work for next weekend mountain bike camping trip and allow me fo fine tune some ideas -
I have been working with limited time and knolage on a 2016 Transit connect titanium wagon day camper conversion. Thanks to all on this board who have given me help and ideas! I didn't want to settle for the stock configuration of this van and wanted to take advantage of the space for my personal need of daily driver and weekend worrier. In the process I am learing new skills .I have documented with many pictures my progress and will figure out how to upload so others who are interested can see what I have done. I use my cell phone access this board so I find it somewhat difficult and may be a little slow responding.

Mission accomplished, lights don't stay on when doors are open . After a week at the dealership refusing to except no for a answer the function is now disabled. The dealership said they finally found the right technician who had experience with police cars and" Dark mode " .I can confirm that a 2016 transit titanium can have the this function disabled. Good luck !

I am trying everything I can to have the dealership reprogram my body control module they seem willing to help but just can't get it right Ford customer service has been no help on the technical side and I can't get to the actual TSB to provide them with exact information and they can't seem to find it does anybody have the name of a dealership or service director that has been able to complete this firmware update successfully my dealership would like to contact someone that has done this so they can complete the job on my van and get me out of their hair thanks for any available information

How can a customer find specific information on a Ford TSB ? I want to confirm a specific TSB exists, so in the long run I can convey the correct information to my dealer . Just blindly explaining to my dealer what I want is not working and telling them I read this information on a Ford Transit Connect board on the internet for some reason just gets them aggravated . If I can prove that my information is correct I can probably get things accomplished . I am looking for a firmware update to put my van in " dark Mode " and below I will quote someone who was able to get this accomplished with the help of his dealer................ I complained about the entry illumination to my dealer, and expressed my concern that it would drain the battery on my 2017 TC XL Cargo Van, since it is being converted to a weekend camper. The service tech hooked up their Integrated Diagnostic System computer to the vehicle's On-board Diagnostic port and scrolled through the Body Control Module menus, but couldn't find any way to shorten or turn off the unwelcome 10-minute "Welcome Lighting." So, I spoke with the dealership's service director, who went online and looked through Ford's technical bulletins for customer complaints about battery drain caused by the long open-door lighting delay. Sure enough, Ford had come out with a firmware update for the TC's Body Control Module. Once my vehicle's module had been updated with the new firmware, the tech was able to access the menu to turn off the lighting. The software update and programming change was covered under my warranty. Now that I am finally in "Dark Mode" I am a happy camper. Moral of the story: Keep complaining until you get results. Let us know how you fare with your dealer.

Yea same problem here .I felt like an ass flashing my lights at the people camping in front of me all weekend . I found if I cycled my key on and off the exterior lighting would disable for a short time but eventually start up again and my wife just couldn't get that trick so if I wasn't there the lights would just stay on , there has to be something I could present to my dealer that would pinpoint exactly what to fix ?

Trying to find specific information to relay to my dealership before the van goes in tomorrow , not having much luck on my search ? What does ford call this function on the Transit connect ? I am trying to search . Welcome lighting , perimeter Lighting , open door exterior lighting , safety lighting and cant find any information on this ford TSB or firmware update . The ford dealer will help me out if I can tell them exactly what to update for me but last time I told them I wanted to put the van in "Dark Mode" so the exterior lights do not come on when a door is opened they did not have a clue . I use the van for camping and this function is a real problem my lights are constantly on and at night my van is lit up like a Christmas tree and causes allot of unwanted attention to come my way .
-
Any tricks to keep the exterior lights from coming on and staying on for 10 minutes every time the doors are open ? I know you can pull the a lever twice to turn them off but that's not always convenient when your camping and just trying to get in the back or side doors also have to repeat evey time another door is opened .I just don't need them to come on at all, every time a door is opened . Supposedly ford had pushed out a update to the body control module to enter into "dark mode " but my dealership hasn't been able to cure the problem? I can't confirm the update actually exists?
