  1. Awesome color choice, I'm about to pick up a connect this week and wish I could find one in blue. I'm gonna need to see some corgi photos too.
  2. I measured up a Connect at a dealer a while ago and I didn't think it would fit with the seats down. My bike is 44.3 inches tall at the windscreen. I might be able to find a couple inches by removing the windscreen but I think it's going to be a really sketchy fit without removing the seats.
  3. This thread is fantastic, thanks for the detailed writeup. I'm in a situation where I'm desperately trying to find a way to make one vehicle do-it-all. Basically what I want is a motorcycle hauler with the ability to occasionally take some extra passengers, but for the most part is just a commuter/cargo hauler. I THINK my ideal solution is to remove the second row seats and build a similar platform, then when I need to haul a bike I'll remove the third row (since they're just a few bolts and easier to remove). Maybe design a quick-release chock on the platform or something. Hmm...
  4. Any word on this? If they're taking orders I don't know how since my Ford dealer doesn't even have an ordering guide. I'm still just looking for a list of what the new options are.
  5. The bike I have is 44.3 in tall, and I believe the rear opening is 44/45.1 inches (depending on rear door). It'd be REAL snug, but I don't see why it couldn't fit. The only question I guess is if I could also fit my stands, generator and other various race day gear... A trailer might still be the right call I guess.
  6. Ah, thanks for the response though! From everything I can find I think the Bonnie is larger both in width and height than the Ninja H2 I need to haul, so I think I should be in good shape!
  7. Anyone ever shove a sportbike into a Connect? I've measured and I'm almost positive I can make it work... My thought was (since I still wanted the option to occasionally have more than one passenger): - Get LWB Wagon - Remove 2nd row seats, build platform to extend floor forward over seat mounts. - Remove 3rd row seats, install custom fabricated plate with Pit Bull Trailer Restraint plate My bike is 82.1 inches, I did some measuring on a wagon and it'll be VERY close with the seat all the way back to where I would have it as a driver (I'm 6'2"). I figure I can put the seat forward, load the bike, then turn the wheel to the side and put the seat back. Or I could just put it behind the passenger and have them deal with a tad less legroom. Mustang, could you measure how long your Bonnie is? It'd help a lot with getting a sense of scale. Thanks!
  8. Good to hear, thanks! Guess I'll start bugging my dealer for an ordering guide soon. I know it's totally a big thing to wish for, but if one of those premium packages means you can get the Connect with adaptive cruise I think I'm sold.
  9. Man, that's bizarre. Currently weighing a few options for my next vehicle, and the Connect is on the list of three (new Civic hatchback, Fusion Sport, Transit Connect, all very different, I know!). If those new Titanium packages have some more high tech options (Adaptive Cruise Control would be amazing) it'll be a really tough choice!
  10. That's the press release I was referring to, it mentions ordering online begins March 14th, but I can't see anywhere to find a real ordering guide. What I'm most curious about is it mentions two new premium packages without explaining what they are. Either way I did some measuring today and figured out that if I can pop the seats out, I can definitely fit my motorcycle into a Transit Connect, so I think one is in my future! I just want some more information before I decide to go new or used.
  11. So Ford's press release said: "Ordering for the 2017 Transit Connect cargo van and Transit Connect Wagon begins online March 14, with vehicles available at Ford dealerships in September." Has anyone found an ordering guide or anything for the 2017 yet?
