  1. My 2014 Titanium wagon is getting 22.2 mpg. I haven't left the city yet, so I'm not disappointed. I am looking forward to a highway only run before too long; miles are right about 5000 now. Everything is relative - I was getting 10-12 mpg in my old Roadmaster wagon, so I'm on top of the world!
  2. Wow, Don, thank you! This helps immensely....I have a much better view of things now.
  3. I'm planning ahead and need bit of guidance. I hope to install an Alpine in line amp and new speakers. Could someone tell me if the tweeter panels just pop out at the bottom of the A pillar? Maybe this could prevent me from breaking something..... Also, are the rear speakers in my 2014 Transit Connect Wagon 5 1/4"? (It's "titanium" model if that makes a difference?) It's disappointing not to have more description of the components and wiring available. I have read plenty about the front door speakers, so I'm in good shape there. Thanks for your patience with us newbies here....!
  4. Don, thank you for all of your electrical advice. I successfully finished the wiring of my Curt adapter using the passenger side rear fuse block. Well, I'm off to read all the other Shockley wiring posts on the strength of my performance tonight....!
  5. Both the "driver balance" setting and the speed adjustment are available on my 2014, and these have helped somewhat now I found them.....! I think ultimately I may put an inline amplifier like the Alpine KTP-445U in there. Hopefully I will find time to pull the driver door panel soon and see the quality of the stock speakers. My Transit Connect has tweeters in the A pillars by the dash, too. Last night I set the volume to about half and physically put my ear to the tweeter and the door speaker to make sure they were working. I didn't have to pull away from either... When I asked the service advisor about specs for the audio system he said I wouldn't find that proprietary information in the manual. How do people find out just what the head unit is?
  6. I could not be more happy to read this. I have my Curt hitch and wiring package done - all except the power line to the battery which has intimidated me. (OK I'm waiting for the weather to cool down a bit, too). I've just saved at least an hour's foolin' with this. Incidentally, is it as hard as it looks to access the positive side of the battery? Nice of them to tuck it in longways......!
  7. My 2014 TC Titanium has been fun so far - just 4500 miles. But, one small thing concerned me....the radio didn't seem as loud or as solid quality as I was expecting. I have the AM/FM single CD but with the Sirius/Sync/back up Cam $840 option. I almost felt as if there were a couple of speakers not hooked up! I was further confused by my loaner Focus titanium today (mines in for it's 5000 mile checkup) which appears to have exactly the same system - except at half volume it's deafening. Can anyone guide me as to the difference, here?! Thank you! Simon
  8. My Radio doesn't come back on if I shut the vehicle down, then restart. It looks as if it's on, but I have to press it "Off" then press it "on" again, and it plays fine. My 2014 TC titanium is in the shop now, and they said they'd check......I'll report back if I hear anything helpful!
