  1. did you have any luck with your van
  2. Dont know if the 2.0 is a totally new engine, they did put them in lincolns with a turbo so durability should not be an issue. Just bought a 2019 and have put 1700 miles on it so far. The cargo van gets about 4 mpg better than my 2014 cargo of course im going from a 6 speed to an 8 speed and there is the auto start feature that must help, it is a bit of a pain in the ass but once you get used to it you can be light on the brake and it wont come on. It is a lot quieter than the 2.5 and the trans sounds like a motorcycle shifting while acceleration. So far so good, the ford pass app is great, i can start, and unlock my van from my phone, it gives fuel level and tire pressure on the app as well.
  3. im getting about 4 more mpg going from a 2.5 to the 2.0. So the 2.0 gets better gas mileage than my 2.5. But it has help from the 8 speed trans and the autostart feature.
  4. Thankfully the fluid was not burnt, smelled OK. I'm not really a proponent of changing the fluid too much because some of the clutch material in the fluid actually helps the clutches engage properly...especially with older high mileage transmissions. As long as there isn't metal or the fluid isn't burnt it should live a pretty long life.
  5. Ok...I did not see that...the hole I found was at the top of the trans. And was 7/16 bolt...the same as the drain plug.
  6. The draining is the easy part. The hard part is filling which requires a pump to inject the fluid into the tiny fill hole. I guess if you have a screw in funnel you'd be OK but it might take 4 hours to replace all 4 quarts.
  7. Just some info for you who think this transmission doesn't need service till 150k...the fluid I took out was completely black...the Ford lv fluid breaks down quickly. The mechanic in the YouTube video I saw recommends changing the fluid every 30K miles. I would say depending on your driving at least 100k would be OK if not sooner.
  8. Ford only cares about safety recalls such as the fuel line and fuel pump recall...the side panel glue recall...and the not properly torqued tie down hooks or seat belt...this leak has been around for years and effects too many vehicles and would be too costly to repair...and the government won't break their balls unless it's a safety issue.
  9. I understand they can leak, but mine has leaked from day one and has been repaired by the dealer twice to no avail. This problem has been around for years with every ford vehicle that has had that trans. Ford took the cheap route as usual and just waits till the vehicle is out of warranty and the customer foots the bill for the proper repair.
  10. I find it a little disheartening that this seal leak has been a problem for years with other ford vehicles and Ford puts their head in the sand and hasn't fixed it....as a loyal ford customer for 30+ years I'm very disappointed.
  11. I have 73k and a leaky trans. I saw on YouTube a vehicle with the same trans and he added 5 qt. I drained 4 qt and put back 4.5 qt. I had drained about a qt. Out the week before due to the dealership over filling the trans. When the leak was supposedly fixed for the second time. Now it's out of warranty and I have to keep a constant eye on the fluid level...without having an easy way to check it.
  12. Does anyone know how much trans. Fluid to replace after draining the trans.? You should use ford LV fluid right?
  13. Axle shift leaks even after dealer repaired it...radio works intermittently...transmission shifts hard...heavy fuel smell inside upon fill up...side panel needs to be reglued...and seat belt mount needs to be torqued down...I'm losing my faith in the product and dealer service...
  14. Brought it in for the recall on the fuel line routing and found it was kinked. They say thus was the reason for the heavy fuel smell in the van on fill up.....no smell since....although I don't know if anyone has overfilled it yet
  15. Just got my tc back from the dealer. Did the recall on the fuel line kink...and it was kinked...hopefully this ends the smell of fuel inside the van on fill up. After 25k miles f driving I was down 2.5 qts of trans fluid due to the axle seal leak on the left side. Hopefully this cures the hard shifting problem...but that was there since day one...haven't driven it enough to notice any difference yet. Didn't get to do the new recall on the door side panel coming loose. Mine seems fine for now. Radio issue is still there...reprogramming it didn't solve the intermittent not working problem. They always say don't buy a first year model...but I rolled the dice...that being said the 2014 tc is more car like than the 2013 dump truck like tc.
  16. Have had my tc since June....has 23k miles...noticed the shaft leak too while doing an oil change...cleaned it off...next oil change leak seams to be lessening or may be gone...hard shifting trans no doubt...t just assume this is "normal " for this vehicle...but now will have to keep a closer eye on it....wonder if they just overfilled the trans at the factory and that is causing the leak.

  18. Anyone else get a heavy fuel smell inside the van upon fill up. I noticed this seemed to happen only when the gas attendant over fills the cap less gas tank. Wonder if this is also related to the recent recall concerning fuel line routing. Anyone?
  19. Bringing mine in Saturday. Has something to do with the routing of the fuel lines and a leak over time.
  20. I have a 2014 tc that has a radio issue. Upon shut down and restart no sound comes out of the radio. It lights up and is on just no sound. It only happens maybe 20% of the time and if I shut the truck down and restart it comes back on and is fine. Anyone else have this issue?
  21. Mine has always been jerky....even seemed to slip a little from 1st to 2nd. Bought mine in June and have 22k miles and have gotten used to it. Just think it's a hard shifting trans. My personal vehicle has a cvt trans which you don't feel at all. That being said it's something to be aware of and if anything changes or gets worse I'll take it in.
