At 30K odometer miles, I was experiencing a wobble on the steering wheel at low and high speeds, so I took my TC in to have wheels/tires/struts checked. Sure enough, front left tire was seriously delaminated. Disgusted, I asked for a price to replace the set of 4. (My spare is already a different make do to a blowout at 17K miles) The store had 2 choices in stock for me, either another set of the same ContiPro set that I had before, or Toyo Ultra. The choice was easy. I have never been happier with the way my TC drives now that I have the Toyos. The price was practically the same. The Toyos are 4-ply like the ContiPros. I would have liked to go to a 6-ply for durability but that was not a ready option. I am pleased to report that my TC now drives better than when brand new. It is much quieter at any speed and the constant vibration at highway speed that I took for granted as part and parcel of the TC experience is simply gone. Plus there is no problem with the tread carrying rocks and gravel which was my pet peeve about the ContiPros from day one. I've put about 500 miles on the Toyo Ultras so far with no complaints. Fully loaded or no load the handling has been great. I've only filled my gas tank once since the switch, so it's too soon to tell what difference if any there is to my MPG. After the next couple of tanks I will average them together and post an update.

Below is a pic of one my tires now at 28,000 miles. When new, the tread's clear space vs gravel filled was about 60/40, no kidding. The dealership response to my complaint after the first week of driving was "then don't drive on gravel". It was a brilliant remark considering that every paved road in the county is finished with oil and, you guessed it, gravel. I am glad that I did not reach across the service counter and end up in jail that day. The gravel retention slowly eased somewhat over time as the tread depth grew less and the tread profiles became more radiused. The current load would almost be acceptable if not for the constant clickety-clickety-clicking. Being the patient miser that I am, I will wait out the remaining life cycle of this set or until another tire failure before buying new (the replacement tire for the 1st blowout did not match the ContiPRo set and so it became my spare).

I never had Continental brand tires on any vehicle before my 2011 TC which came stock with Conti Pro Contacts. I immediately noticed that the tread is not self cleaning (all 4 tires were completely packed with pea gravel after just a hundred miles and would not fully release even at highway speeds), they frequently lose pressure, and I had the excitement of the left front tread blowing out while going 65mph(the tire was at 17k). I would never recommend this tire to anyone, on the contrary, if this tire is still stock for new TCs I would urge all buyers to negotiate a different brand tire set from the dealership as a condition of the deal.

With the factory bolts and rubber washers in place on my roof I never had an issue during the first winter of ownership. My experience with wet front seat belts is directly related to my installing a roof rack. If this applies to your situation, you will need to make sure that the threaded attachment through the roof panel is completely watertight. If the mounting kit that you have for your rack does not provide a weathertight connection and you cannot employ a rubber washer to make the seal, you could use a healthy dab of Dow795 silicone on the threaded stud to ensure the connection is 100% weathertight. I have done this with complete success.

Dormant thread here, I know, but I thought I'd toss in my 2 cents. Response to Erik - My 2011 TC has about 28k on it now, but when it was new I noticed a creaking noise coming from the mid section of the body when going over unever terrian and potholes as well. It worried me a little bit and I was not able to narraw it down as you had, but after a couple thousand miles the noises ceased. My guess is that whatever (in)tolerance in the fit of the body parts eventually found a finished fit once the vehicle was fully broken in, which may or may not be contributing to the reason for my question below. My Question-The action of the sliding doors started out smooth and quiet but now make a racket when I open them, so I'm considered tuning the rollers/tracks up a bit to see if it helps. Anyone have a good how-to response?
