  1. Ps - to answer about re-badged models that are the same size as a Connect - the Citroen Berlingo is the same as the Peugeot Partner. the Fiat Doblo is the same as the (current) Vauxhall Combo. The Mercedes Citan is the same as the Renault Kangoo. there are loads more collaborations of smaller and larger models too
  2. Our reason for buying a Connect was having been in the Transit Van owners club for many years and on changing our campervan couldn't buy a Transit conversion so ended up with a Peugeot Boxer conversion as it has a Ford engine (that was our excuse at the club event in July) With the 50th anniversary if the Transit coming up we decided we were lacking a Transit in our life so as a full size Sportvan was out of the question we bought a Connect Sportvan as it will fit into the garage (be better after we change the garage doors and the spoiler can go back on). We looked at all options ie a new basic white model then theme it Street Van style but decided on the Sportvan as there were only 300 built and the data shows about 270 currently on the road. Transit Connects have been popular mainly for business use but are being overtaken by car derived vans ie Citroen Berlingo as the cost of the Berlingos etc is much better. Will have to see how the new model is priced etc. We would loved to have bought a US version and have it shipped over but found yours are all high roof models and wouldn't fit in the garage. We have two roof heights.
  3. Another UK owner here. We live in Manchester but travel about the country. Hope to see you out and about. Janet
  4. Hello everyone I am Janet and along with my partner we have recently bought a new to us Transit Connect Sportvan having not been able to replace our much loved Transit Campervan (Freddy Van) Mark 6 2005 with another Transit so have been Transit-less for 18 months. Our new one was part of a limited run of 300 vans so is quite unusual. We had to buy a Connect as it would fit in the garage. Although a full size Transit Sportvan would have been our first choice. Our van is almost 4 years old - his birthday (registration date in 16 September 2009) and had done 95,000 UK miles - which is considered pretty high mileage for age. It had been used to carry hair products to salons around the North of England. Although is honest and original and has not been boarded out in the back. We are members of the Transit Van Owners club and love to go to events with them. We have an annual meet up at Gaydon at the Heritage Motor Museum which is always good fun. I will endeavour to post some photos of van when we were are out and about.
