  1. I did by the optional rain fly as part of the screen tent, but I question how well it would work with the way it fits on the back of the van. These were designed for the hatch style vehicles that are a touch shorter so I am guessing this application will not be as weather proof. My hope is that is will be mostly bug free for warm day time hanging out during bug season.
  2. As I was working on our camper modules I discovered this product called the Tail Veil tent. Seemed like a great idea for ventilation and extra tailgating room for our micro-camper. Not a great picture but just to get you all thinking. Inside I have a tent pole between the doors. There is a perfect spot to put a small shock corded pole inserted into a little hole (where there is a rubber grommet) in the upper corner of the rear doors to help support the tent in the middle.
  3. Finally getting around to building our "modules" for our convertible multi-function TC. We have a little one so the second row seating is a must and will work as a support for part of the bed. Got lots of ideas from euro websites along with a number of folks here in the states, (including this forum). Hope to get it partially done in time for a bluegrass festival next weekend!
  4. We are also going to go with magnets sewn into the fabric for the back and side door windows. For the front we are going to make a long curtain that connects to the arms that hold the visors and then will wrap around cover front side windows and connect to side hooks. It will look something similar to what was made for the VW Westfalia campers front and side windows. Hope to get some pictures up once we are finished. Good luck with your curtains.
  5. Nice ride. Great to see another TC Camper Van user here on the forum. I am in middle of building our camper modules that be easily installed and removed depending on our needs. Keep us posted on your camper mods and how they are functioning. Cheers from the east coast.
  6. Thanks, I have seen his facebook page and there are some good ideas. I have also looked at your gallery page as well. Would be great to hear some feedback on how your design is working out. There are also some great ideas looking at Kangoo Campers - also popular in Europe. How has your van handled the New England weather? I lived in Holyoke for a couple of years before moving back to Maryland!
  7. Hello there transit world. Another new owner here with plans to add modular camper components to our 2010 transit. Already some good looking work from current members on this forum that has given me some ideas! Coming from the VW world it would cool to see just a percentage of the activity that happens on TheSamba happen here on this site...Hope I will be able to follow thru with posting images of the transformation as we start to build our components. My idea is to make the camper components small enough and light enough that I can move things in and out as need be to make space for the occasional work job, home repair, moving or other random van job. So far we have added a yakima roof rack and I may set up my mega warrior cargo basket up there as well for summer beach trips and music festivals. It will be tricky to fit this all in with three of us traveling together, but I believe it can be done! Happy Trails.

    Hello All

Not too far from you as a new connect owner myself. I am in Maryland, but picked up my 2010 in Va.
