Am trying out pet screen as a bug screen when camping. Pet screen is sold in the doggie door aisle at the Home Improvement store. Also sold in some fabric stores - many beach tote bags are sewn from pet screen. My window screen is held in place by magnets. Sewed a 2 inch square of pet screen over each magnet. Used velcro along the edge of plastic where the window joins the non opening wing area of glass. I tried to sew sticky back velcro to the pet screen but ran into a lot of problems as the glue from the velcro clogged my sewing machne needle. Instead, I sewed regular velcro to the pet screen and then used simple little glue dots (sold at the craft or stationary store) to adhere the corresponding piece of velcro to the vertical plastic trim. Easily removed - easily put into place. Not sure yet if pet screen works with mosquitos as we don't have mosquitos where I live.-

I am trying out an idea for pet screen - a black plastic screen material sold at Home Depot or Lowe's in the aisle along with doggie doors etc. I cut a template out of the pet screen, marking where to cut with chalk as the screen was held in place to the outside of the passenger window area with ceramic magnets about the size of a quarter. I then sewed the magnets to the corners by placing a 2 inch square of pet screen over the magnet. Where the pet screen runs up the rubber trim on forward edge of window area, I sewed a piece of velcro (non sticky back). I then used little dots of stick on "glue dots," purchased at my local 99 cent store (in the craft/paper aisle) to attach to the back side of my corresponding velcro. I tried to sew stick back velcro to the pet screen and the glue on the velcro clogged up my needle pretty bad resulting in thread breaking, junky looking stitching etc. This idea is for use in the campground, after I stop for the night. It allows for ventilation but hopefully keeps bugs out. Easily removed and put in place with minimal effort.

Just came back from camping in my Lil' Woody. Decided that I can make simple window fabric panels that attach with basic magnets. I did put a fleece blanket over rear windows, using magnets, while camping and that worked well. Bought a sun shade for front window which attaches to windshield with suction cups.

I am loving my new little Woody TC! Just returned from a week in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. Have a few ideas now of how to make this work even better for camping. It is definitely a conversation piece. Posted more photos in the gallery section. I don't surf . . . but my last name has to do with a well known Southern CA surfboard company. I do quilt so in the next few weeks, I plan to make a surfboard/Woody quilt for the van as well as some curtains and even a dressing room for the rear open doors. It is a work in progress. I placed long narrow pillows between the two front seats so as to add a soft tranisiton from Sadie's passenger seat to the bed. She easily moves from the front to the back to be where she is most comfortable. Sadie is 13 years old! -

One basket for sleepwear, one basket for T-shirts etc. Hooks are great for things I want to see and get to easily. I hang the S shaped small hooks from the plastic covered attachment points in the interior lining. -

I am still working on tweaking the inside. I did not want an industrial look nor did I have the desire to carry what looked like furniture. I do not need built in cabinets etc. I want to camp, sit by the fire, enjoy the outdoors but with less work than pitching a tent involves. I have also learned that in inclement weather, I want to stay dry. I put a twin mattress with a 3 inch memory foam topper inside, on a twin wooden platform that is slightly elevated by bricks wrapped in towels so as not to be abrasive on the base of the mattress. Under the wood frame I have some room for storage such as for my single burner butane stove, Ziplock bags, etc. I still may work out a pull out tray system of some kind. -

I saw a cute Woody Wrap on a white TC, in Los Alamitos, CA. Joe's Premium Painting came up with the idea for his TC and told me he had it done at Iconography - http://www.iconographystudios.net/. Price was $2,000. My dog used to be my conversation piece when traveling - now it is the TC Woody. -
What a journey! I wanted a little Red TC for a campervan. I felt that used would be a better value. After a lot of searching, I found one online, in the SLC area. I live in the Los Angeles area. It only had 6,500 miles on it and was a 2010 and was exactly the model I wanted. I made an offer, flew up and drove it home only to find out it could not be registered in California. Anything LESS than 7,500 miles, at point of purchase from out of state, is viewed as a NEW vehicle in California and therefore is required to have the stricter emissions system. Utah Lil' Red was a 49-State Vehichle, which I have since learned a whole lot about. I simply could not register the vehicle and was told by the DMV to sell it to someone from out of state. The DMV RED FLAGGED the vehicle so it could NEVER be registered within California. It was a frustrating experience. I did not want to be vulnerable to selling it online to someone from out of state. I took it to a local dealer and traded it in, yes, and took a loss, but drove home a NEW Lil' Red, exactly the same model. Actually New Lil' Red has a few nicer ammenties than did the 2010 Utah version. So, what's a few thousand dollars? Lessons are always learned the hardway it seems. Life is short - move on is my philosophy.

No longer have seats for sale. They were part of a vehcile I found I could not register in California. So, the seats and the 49-state TC went on to another life in some other state.
