  1. Wish I could help you. I took it back from the dealer after they couldn't recreate the problem, and it has never done it since.
  2. Well, it happened twice. The first time the cruise was on, and my assumption at the time was I might have hit the OD button or knocked it out of gear, but I don't believe know I did. The next day the cruise was not on (a highway that passes through Tupelo but has stoplights) and I definitely didn't hit the OD. The actual gear down was MUICH more drastic than OD could do I've since concluded. More like taking a manual transmission at 60 mph and jamming it into 2nd gear.
  3. Crap. The service manager says they drove it 110 miles and couldn't replicate it. So of course I'm sure it will do it as soon as I get on the highway in the pouring rain today.
  4. We are leasing a 2010 Transit Connect at work (4cyl Gas) automatic transmission. It has ~ 20k miles and has been fairly reliable up to this point. Last week while driving it home on the highway, out of nowhere it acted like I had slammed the transmission into first gear. The RPM's red-lined, the front end dove down and my speed shot from 70mph to 20mph . I pulled over and shut it off, and when I restarted it ran normally. The next day after about 30 minutes of highway driving it did the same exact thing. Took it into the local Ford dealer in Tupelo, and of course they can't find anything wrong with it and want me to pick it up. I'm reluctant to do so as in my opinion it is dangerous in this condition, and after much arguing they agreed to take it out again for a highway drive and try to find out. Any issues known to point them in a direction? They haven't seen many of the Transits, so I don't feel they know what to look for.
