Hey all, I have as 2012 that I've been having to use jumper cables on for a few days.  Got a new battery and while installing, put my meter between the neg post and neg cable with the + hooked up. normally check for Ma, but I found a 12VDC fault.

Step by step I found it was the heavy gauge cable feeding the under hood fuse box.  It looks like it runs along the rear of the engine (right to left then down and hooks back right a few inches) to possibly the alternator.  How do I check if the alternator has gone to ground?  is there a history of this? TYIA
