Blackdog
Sun, Oct 31 Just returned from purchasing and picking up our silver XLT wagon in Bozeman, MT,driving approximately 600 milesone way. Silver was the color we wanted, and at model year-end, it was less costly to pick it up ourselves than dealing with local dealers. The configuration of this vehicle is just what we need for our lifestyle (we're in our 60s), so impressing people with plush and speed is unimportant. Utility and practicality, along with size and fuel economy, are our main concerns. The tire sensor came on not long after leaving Deer Lodge, MT. We did several visual inspections; tires appeared to be OK,and there were no problems. We understand that it could be the spare. I will have to learn to adjust for the post in the rear doors relating to rear visibility as a vehicle directly behind can be totally hidden from view. It is very early in our Ford TransCon experience, and certainly we're hoping it will be positive for the long-term. We are curious about the pressure to purchase a very costly extended warranty plan. Is it fear mongering or primarily a huge revenue generating thing for Ford? We did not purchase one except for the key replacement. The high-end plan was almost $3,500! The modest plan was $1,992 which is nothing to sneeze at either. We will want to obtain a dog barrier for the veicle -- does anyone have info regarding such that will fit the TransCon?
