Hello to all,

I bought a Black XLT WGN on 6/6/10 after looking at the FORD web site for months. I first saw one on the road around January or Feberary 2010. The only thing is I did not get the color I wanted (Blue) as the dealer did not have that color and was told that FORD is not sending the dealers any more TCs for about 6-8 months. Something to do with several companys placing big orders and it will take that long to fill the orders. I believe I have seen around 11 in the Jacksonville, FL area plus one in St. Augustine, FL since I made my purchase. ACE hardware, AAA, some house painter to name a few. One of the vans is Black like mine but all the others are white. I think all the others are vans and not a wagon.

I am still not a FORD fan but has been a good service van so far. I have 4900+ miles so far in 2 months. I believe I am getting around 21-23 MPG at this time. I do most of the driving on I-95, I-295, I-10 and 9A where the speed limit is 65-70. I do 74 or 79 most of the time. Just fast enough not to get ticket. It seems if you do 9 or less over the limit in this area the police leave you alone. Plus if my helper is along for the day and I have to go into building by myself I leave the van running for the AC. Those 2 facters play a big part in the low MPG. I read somewhere that the TC is not geared for speeds over 70 or so.

I was using the personal car, Hyundai Elantra, the last five years. I got around 30 MPG but the trunk was just not big enough. I have to haul a foldable 6' table, a couple of tool boxes, parts sent to me to repair Vizio TV's, and LJ Printers, plus haul the return parts back to FedEx or UPS. So, the car was just to small. It seemed like I had to unpack the trunk everytime I was on a service call. Expesicaly if I had to use the table. Also I put 133000 miles on the Elantra in the five years I owned the car. All that wear and tear killed the value of the car for resale. I keep the car and drive only on weekends or during the week if I do not have any service calls that day.

I cover a large area of NE Florida. I am one of three techs for one company and the only tech for the other two companys. I cover Duval, Nassau, Baker, Clay, St. Johns counties in FLorida. Charlton and Camden counties in Georgia.

Well I hope to see you on the road. I'll wave if I am not going to fast. LOL

Rebecca
